Falcon Field, Hope Festival

Friday, Oc 9..We took the kids to Falcon Field for their "F" field trip. They had a great time. Unfortunately the big plane that they usually let the kids climb into, was gone for the weekend. They still had lots of cool planes to see. They also had a fun little toy plane the kids got to ride in...I think that was the funnest part for all of them. We got to watch some helicopters take off and some planes take off and land. Then, we went to the park their on the campus and the kids wrote in their pre-k journals and played at the playground.

On a side note..Friday was also my 29th birthday. I got to celebrate a little early the night before at the Grand Lux Cafe with my parents; then unfortunately I felt sick afterwards, for reasons not mentioned yet. Then, Friday for lunch we went to Pita Jungle; I actually craved for something healthy. Then we got a babysitter and Brant and I went out for the first time in a while! We went to the movies first and saw "Couples Retreat." I thought it was funny, but a bit vulgar and inappropriate at times. Then, we ate dinner at Pei Wei and walked around Wal Mart and bought some necessities, cuz we didn't want to go home yet and didn't know what else to do..haha, we're so lame. I had a great time just me and Brant :)

Sat Oct 10, Tati had a Sunbeams birthday/Halloween party at the Nielson's home ( Penny and Jeremy Lindblom are her leaders, but they live at her parents). They are wonderful and did so much stuff for the kids. They made masks, decorated cookies, ate lunch, hit a pinata and got lots of candy, and played pin the eye on the monster (funny thing is Tati got the eye right on the monsters private area.haha we adults were laughing, fortunately the kids had no clue).

Later that day, we went to the Hope Kids Festival! They had so much stuff going on, it was ridiculous! They had pony rides, bounce houses and slides, tons of food, snow cones, cotton candy, crafts, dunk tank, face painting, family pictures, hand prints on the pony, carnival games, and Disney characters...Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs! The weird thing was that Tati and Hailey didn't care to take a picture with them. I'm convinced it was because the Snow White was a pretty lame one, she didn't have a wig on or anything.. just the dress and kinda ragged. The seven dwarfs were awesome and Tati saw her favorite and was excited..Dopey :) They also had Star Wars characters: Darth Vader, Storm Trooper and e-woks..The girls didn't know who they were, since obviously they haven't watched Star Wars. Anyways, we even got to take home a couple boxes of pizza that were leftover. The girls had a blast! well worth the drive to Tatum and Acoma (in Phoenix). It was a long day and we were all exhausted afterwards.

Sunday, we also got a special treat and went to the open house at the new Cardon Childrens Hospital! They had Emily Osment there from Hannah Montana and we got to see her..Tati was excited about that. We toured part of the hospital and it was really cool. They also had bounce houses, but since it was Sunday, we didn't allow the girls to go in them. They had lots of food samples and fun goodies to take home (yo-yo's, band aid holders, Tati made a cool nurse badge with her picture, pens, coloring pages, bubbles, first aid kits, stuffed animals, etc) We got to see the wonderful Laurie Smith (NP), but didn't get to see the new Hem/Onc unit cuz it wasn't open yet :( We'll visit when the hospital opens up! We also met over at the Morrow's for our monthly get together. Today was fast sunday, so everyone ate at their own homes and then met over there for dessert (I ate at my parents, and Brant had to do security at the church, so I brought him lunch afterwards).

Looks like a lot of fun. Wish we were there. I told Tjel the other day that I am ready to go home! :) Even though we like Texas. Tjel and I do the same think if we ever get a sitter.
