Intubated

Tatiana is intubated again, she's back on the ventilator since Monday night, Nov.21. Today, she's down to 50% of oxygen. She had another pulmonary hemmorage. She is on nipride, a stronger hypertensive medication, along with the others to keep her blood pressure mean at 80 or below. She is on fentanyl (narcotic) and versed (sedation) to keep her comfortable and from fighting against the ventilator. She's also getting nimbex (paraletic) every 30 min. She is very feisty and tries to pull out her endotrachial tube anytime the paraletic wares off. She's back on TPN (total parenteral nutrition) and on small tube feeds of breastmilk into her duo denum, of 5cc an hour. She is still getting albuterol treatments every 4 hours and on continual veno venous hemo dialysis. Tati's coagulation factors have been off, so she has need FFP (fresh frozen plasma), platelets and RBC's (red blood cells). She is more stable now and as soon as her lungs can heal and handle more weight fluctuations, they may try doing intermitten dialysis and hope that her kidneys may have incentive to work if there is more fluid on board. Hopefully, when her kidneys start to work again, her hypertension will resolve, then eventually the HUS (hemolytic uremic syndrome) will get better and when she doesn't need blood products every day, we can leave the PICU and be outpatient. Thanks for everyone's prayers and support!

Andrea & family,

We think of you everyday and pray for your strength and Tatiana's recovery. It is obvious she is a tough girl...just like her Mom. Stay strong...

Andréa,
We think about your family often, Riley especially asks about you and the baby. I hope she grows stronger everyday, she's proven to be quite a tough cookie so far.
Love, Andrea, Sheridan & Riley
