Pre K, Camping, Birthdays, etc

A lot has been going on lately.. to start off, we've been camping. Over labor day weekend, we went up to Heber w/ the Morrows and some good friends came with us (Justin & Michelle). We expected it to rain, as it usually does, so I was better prepared this time. We left late Friday and came home late Sunday. While we were there, Erick & Brant built a giant swing for the kids (and adults). It was a lot of fun! We really enjoy attending church at the Heber ward, (not solely because it's sacrament meeting only). We always have great food going on w/ the Morrows.

Pre - K field trips have been great! The kids got to go bird watching and bug collecting and dinasaur bone digging, etc. Sis Ellingson did a great job and they all made binoculars! I didn't get to go on this trip, but they had a blast! Then, we took the kids to the cannery. Bishop Ellingson is the manager there and we got to get a little tour and the kids got to see the big mixing machines and the assembly line. They also got to see how the catsup is bottled and got to keep it! we got some yummy candy afterwards as well. I am so glad they get to experience many different things.

Hailey had a birthday! She turned 2 on Monday Sept 14th. We went to Gecko Grill w/ Vovo e Vovo (minus the accents, but they are diff.. which is grandma & grandpa). I asked Hailey where she wanted to go for dinner and she said Vovo's house, but I said no, what restaurant..hahah then Tati said Gecko Grill, so then we decided on that. We always get the mango chicken quesadilla and mango water :) Then, we went to the AZ Mills mall and Tati got to jump on the trampoline w/ a harness and the girls got to ride the carousel. Next, we saw the movie Ponyo!! we've been waiting to see it and the girls were extatic. We love Miyasaki films and for her bday party she wanted a Totoro bday (which is a character in another Miyasaki film). The girls sat very well through the whole movie, along with eating tons of popcorn and junk. The movie was super cute and would recommend taking any kid to see it.

Saturday, Sept 19, we did a little bday party for Hailey. Since she wanted a Totoro bday, I made the invitations w/ Totoro on it and made a cake w/ him as well. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a pic of the cake :( Anyways, we borrowed a bounce house from some friends (super awesome wonderful great Cunninghams). Then, we got a slip n slide and a small pool for the kids to play. We had tons of yummy food and Hailey got some great gifts. Thank you Thank you for all those who came and wish we could have had even more friends come!
