3NW

Tatiana is back from the PICU, she was there for about a week and she is continuing to have some trouble with her respirations, she is getting respiratory therapy every 4 hours (albuterol nebulizer) she is still hypertensive (high blood pressure) and her lungs are better! this week she has been having complications with her heart, she has pulmonary hypertension and vasculitis (damage to the vessels, damaging her blood cells) they started her on another blood pressure drug that is controlling her pressure a little bit better.. before she was in the range of about 160/90 and she is down to 120/70, which is still high, but much better! She is making white blood cells and her ANC is up to 700.. she is taking neupogin, which helps her body make these cells more abundant. She wasnt eating for a while, they started her on tpn (total perineal nutrition) it's all of her nutrition intraveinously. she started to nurse yesterday, for a little bit, which is exciting and a big improvement. We have decorated the room with halloween stickers and the hospital has a tradition for kids to go trick or treating here at the hospital, which will be fun and we are planning to dress up as well as some of the nurses and maybe even Dr. Andreansky! (BMT physician) Tatiana is still very weak and the campbell ward here in Tuscon has been so supportive, we are so appreciative for all of our friends and family, nurses and doctors!
