Thursday July 5th this little peanut was born. We didn't have a name yet going to the hospital, but the name we chose was a name that we had talked about. I was watching a movie one day and sometimes I like to look at the credits for names. I came across Naomi and presented it to Brant.. it was the first name he didn't immediately say NO to :)
Naomi Isabel Morrow
we decided I think at the end of the day she was born. Brant just said, ok I'm sold, after talking about her name being Naomi, which is funny because I had mentioned this name a few weeks ago and he wasn't able to commit I guess until maybe he saw her and I think that once we saw her, the name fit. My mom outspokenly does not like the name, but she didn't like Levi either and it grew on her; so I'm sure the same will happen.

Independence day was fun. We had friends over for swimming and bbq. We lit off our own fireworks and tried to make it to nearby fireworks, but missed them. I think the kids had just as much fun doing fireworks at home and I was starting to have contractions that night. I hadn't packed my bag yet and decided to do that while everyone was over, just in case!
I went to bed that night feeling a bit anxious and didn't sleep very much. The contractions weren't super strong yet, but I could tell they were getting more consistent. I think around 5 am I got up and had a strong feeling that we should go to the hospital. I wasn't in any kind of major hurry or pain, but I just felt that it was time for some reason (you know that special feeling from the spirit). I called my parents and said for them to come, but no rush. I think it was probably almost around 6am by the time we got settled into the hospital. I was sent to triage after checking in and I was only dilated 3cm! I was a bit disappointed, but the nurse noticed right away from the monitor that she was under stress. Her heart rate was elevated and she seemed concerned. I started to get a little worried. Then, the nurse had to give me an oxygen mask to help the baby. Once we got admitted into our room, after about 1 hour or so, I was dilated to about 6cm. I had to get meds for GBS+ and after the first dose, they said I needed to wait another 4 hours to get the next dose..My back was hurting pretty bad and the baby was most likely posterior. The nurse had adjusted my positioning to get her into the correct position. I had planned on not getting an epidural, but with the back labor going on and having a few more hours left, and the baby being under duress and I could barely breath while doing Lamaze technique with the oxygen mask on. I felt it was in mine and baby's best interest to get the epidural. I was also feeling dehydrated and they had to give me extra iv fluids. After the epidural I felt a world of difference.. it was so nice! I had an epidural with Hailey and didn't like it as much for some reason. Only about 2 or so hours had passed and I felt my water break.. for the first time ever on it's own! I was about 8cm and then not too long after they started getting read for delivery. Dr Beck was already nearby and ready to go.
5 or so pushes later and she was born at 10:35am and didn't make it for her 2nd dose of meds, so she had to get a cbc and blood culture to make sure she was ok.
She came a little slower than the others and afterwards I felt like I had the wind knocked out of me in my chest! the second I saw her I had tears of joy!
She was perfect in every way, weighing 7lbs and 19in. our smallest baby and earliest, being 1 week early.
Dr. Beck's first words were that she had brown hair.. we were shocked, since the others were all born with red hair.
I am blessed to have 4 amazing children and a wonderful husband, who does an awesome job at being husband and Dad!
Grandma came to visit and came home a little early from Heber, where some of the other family members were and the rest were out of town in Utah.
