Rio de Janeiro, Brasil (Corcovado, Sugar Loaf)
Our wonderful trip consisted of many fun and exciting things, along with some fun people.. including Joe and Laura Kerby, and my parents. Our condo is on Copacabana beach where we stayed. We visited the Pao de Acucar (sugar loaf), Corcovado (the Christ), Buzios, Cabo Frio was a quick Hello, goodbye..it was so packed, you could probably catch an std and not even know it, shopping at the Feira Hippie, going to the beach even when it is raining..that was a blast. Brant and Joe got speedos from some male prostitutes (don't ask..long story haha not really) we rode bikes, rollerbladed visited our old grounds in Ipanema, we went to Angra dos Reis and took a boat to Ilha Grande (Island), and we flew to Iguaçu falls and visited both Brasil and Argentina side...amazing, we spent New Years..Revellion 2009 in our apartment watching the fireworks overlooking the beach..the best firework show anyone has ever scene, guaranteed! also alot of time was spent looking at Havaianas and buying them and for Brant it was futbol jersies. At Iguaça, Hailey got stung by a bee, then later Joe did...then later, Brant got stung at the beach. I got walking pnemonia/bronchitis the last week and Brant and girls got a little bit of it as well. Then, on our flight home, in dirty Atlanta (I just say that for no reason..not sure why, it's not really dirty at all..it's just a huge airport and was annoying) Brant and I got food poisoning..so either on the plane (Delta) or in Atlanta..not sure, but for me, it was bad..boo, but at least we were home for that one. Thanks to John for watching our lovely, but annoying dogs while we were gone! We went to church in Jardim Botanico and met a missionary from Glendale, we got to eat at the Naval Club where my uncle Coquinho is a member, we ate at the best restaurant Galleria Gourmet in Barra da Tijuca and did more shopping of course, Tati and Hailey watched a lot of Peter Pan and Sleeping Beauty, we were visited by a giant moth in our bedroom, Tati and I got our hair braided, which hurt like a mother (only mine did for some reason, and I swear I'm not a wuss), we got to see a long of thongs and speedos (Brant and Joe's highlight of the trip), I touched a Tucan bird (my favorite) at the Parque do Aves in Iguaçu..pretty exciting (your not supposed to touch them though..they can chop your finger off!) we drank a lot of gaurana and some of us even lost some weight..good ole total gym (which we barely used)..mostly Brant and Joe from carrying the girls around everywhere, since Tati's favorite phrase is, "you have to hold me!" so much for bringing the double stroller.. well, that pretty much sums it up in the 3 weeks...and one of Tati's favorite memories is getting a leaf, wherever we went..pure and simple pleasures I tell ya.
