New Improvements

Tati loves gymnastics. She is making many improvements every week. She can do a headstand against the wall and a forward roll all by herself! She looks forward to going every time and has a blast when she's there. She loves other kids and is also learning how to take turns. She can walk in relevee and do kicks on the beam.

Tati went to see the nephrologist this week and a few adjustments have been made. She is going to be taking another blood pressure medication; the enalapril isn't enough anymore..so she'll be on enalapril (a stronger dose) and amlodipine. She is finally sustaining her own hemoglobin and hematocrit, without the help of epogin! She hasn't had an epo shot in over a month..we are very excited about that. Her labs also indicated that she is making her own iron and doesn't need iron supplements anymore! (these are all based on my opinions by looking at her labs, without talking to the doctor..they are assumptions, but I'm hoping the doctor will agree) Also, she may have to go back on her thyroid medication..we'll see. Overall these improvements are wonderful. her creatinine is staying at 0.8 and we're glad it hasn't gone up.

Therapy is finally on its way! We got approved for Arizona Early Intervention Program and Tati will be getting developmental therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy all at home! They recommended physical therapy, but I don't think she will need it very much. Tati is finally started to make sounds that sound like words! she can say: flower, ball, mama, dada, bobba, car, row row boat, twinkle star, uh oh, and water :) they are pretty distorted, but we understand her when she says it and when it is used in the right context. She also knows almost 60 signs and is still learning more every week. We enjoy every tiny improvement she makes and we're so proud of everything she does. Tati loves the nursery, although I think this week I will have to observe during play time, because she has somehow learned to throw toys.
Also, we have an idea about a name for this next baby girl, but would like suggestions...

The picture of Tati at the bottom of your post is so adorable. You should be a nurse with all your medical knowledge! I learned all of those labs and what they mean in Block 1, you'd fly right through! My boys love gymnastics, too. I think it's so good for coordination, exercise, and getting all that extra energy out.

You are such a strong, positive person Andrea! It's inspiring to read your blog.

ok that last pic of tati is SO SO CUTE!! I was totally thinking the same thing that Ami is...you should be a nurse. I am just starting the program and you already know more than me! lol. You should post what names your thinking about so we can get an idea what kinds of names you like.

Hey, I responded to your comment on my blog about the nursing stuff but for gymnastics I had Stratton (my 4 year old) in Diamondback Gymnastics for awhile and it was great. Then we moved to QC and my husband didn't want me to drive as far so I found a girl out here that converted her garage into a gym and we go there right now. Stratton loves it and learns new things (most of which I can't even do) every week. I think next summer or maybe a little sooner we'll switch back to the gym because he's getting really good! Where do you have Tati?

She is so cute! I hope it wasn't Walker that taught her how to throw toys!
