Getting Better

Tatiana is on the road to recovery. She no longer recieves oxygen treatments, her lungs are better. She continues to make small amounts of urine per day. She is on a totaly fill volume of 100ml on her peritoneal dialysis. She will be going on the cycler machine Thursday Feb. 2.. which cycles her dialysis automatically, instead of manually like we've been doing. Tatiana's sodium is low, so they have to supplement her with sodium and her phosphorus as well as her potassium..she doesn't like it very much. She is having a hard time keeping her food down..she has an ng (nasal gastric) tube in to supplement feeds of breastmilk, which she can be sent home with. She currently is taking 85ml of breastmilk every 2 hours (whether by nursing or from a bottle). Once she is on the cycler for a couple weeks and I have finished my training for it, we will be outpatient! We will be staying at a nearby apartment here in Tuscon, then we will be commuting back and worth to the hospital every day. Tati is sort of taking solid foods.. we've been trying: carrots, peas, sweet potatoes, squash, and green beans..she isn't much of a fan of any. Tati is 10 months now and weighs about 7.7 kg and has 2 teeth with another on its way!
